I'm Back!

Alright...so it has been like a month and a half since the last time I wrote...I know, I know....I am not doing very well at updating this.  But you know how school can be.  Thats right I'm back in school!  I am so glad to be at school again!  Overall I am enjoying my classes and am getting all of my homework finished.  My job on campus is going fairly well also.  So life is going well and I will try to update more on school life. ;)

My Really Original and Well Thought Out Title For the 3rd Day of Blogging

So today was a typical day in the life of Mary during the summer.  Oh wait...I take that back.  This morning around 1a.m. my dog was upstairs barking and barking and barking.  Of course I woke up from all of the racket, thinking that it was morning and time to wake up.  I checked the clock (which said 1 a.m.) and decided to look to see what the problem was.  Well...Wishbone (my dog) was just sitting on the couch wagging his tail...so happy to see me!  How can I be angry at such a cute little creature?!?!  So I took him in my arms and brought him downstairs to my bed and we both fell asleep.

Well there started my EARLY day!  When I finally woke up at a descent hour I had my morning coffee and got ready to go to work.  Yay housekeeping (*me being sarcastic*)!  After arriving at work I got my board for the day and was completely and totally surprised to get only two 2 bedroom departures....and one happened to be owned by my dad's cousin!  What was even better was that my dad's cousin's daughter and her husband (who just got married and were on their honeymoon) had stayed in the condo.  I of course thought that I would for sure not see them.  Funny story....I saw them!  I talked to them for a little while...which of course pretty much made my day!  If you can tell...not many exciting things happen in the day of a life of a poor college student, working in housekeeping, to earn a little extra money (yeah I know...quite the mouthful) ;)  Of course since my board was not big at all I ended up having to help in laundry...which wasn't that bad...but is not fun or exciting either.  I guess I just have to keep a positive attitude to make it through the last month.

I have a feeling that sometime in the future I will find something good that I learned or find that this job aided me in some sort of character building.  ;)

2nd Day

So today is my second day of blogging.  Not much new since yesterday.  I had a long day at work in the housekeeping department.  My official title is "Condo Attendant."  I know...I know...real fancy...lol!  All I do is clean the condos while people are staying in them or prepare a condo for the next person or family that comes around.  My day usually consists of cleaning two or three departures and anywhere between two and five stay-overs (which means people are currently residing in the condo).  The days are long, but I would rather it be long and stay at the condos than having to help the housekeepers in the hotel.

I know that housekeeping has nothing to do with marketing, advertising, or the entertainment industry....but everybody has to start somewhere.  I happen to have been employed at my first real grunge job.  I have been fortunate enough to not have any jobs this gross in high school.

Hopefully next summer I will get an internship or be able to study abroad.

The Start of Something New

So I have decided to start a blog.  I have tried to keep a blog before, but it did not work out very well....hopefully I can make it work this time.  I look forward to writing about college, running, and whatever else will be happening in my life.  Right now I am on summer vacation and am working at a resort...so my life is not very exciting.  Hopefully things will pick up once school starts.  Anyway...this is my second attempt at blogging.  Wish me luck! :)
